Privacy Policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Always Blue Software LLC (“we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses and shares information when you play The Lid Drawer on The Lid Drawer website at liddrawer.app (“the game”).
The short version
- You don't need an account to play, and we don't ask for your name or email.
- Your progress is saved in your own browser. If you sign in, we also keep a copy on our servers so you can play on other devices and get it back after clearing your browser.
- We record how the game is played with LogRocket so we can fix bugs and make it better, unless your browser asks not to be tracked.
- We don't show ads, we don't sell personal information, and we don't set advertising cookies.
Information we collect
Your progress. Your progress (the levels you reach, your stars, keys and hints) and settings such as sound are kept in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data, or using “Reset progress” where the game offers it, deletes them.
Saved progress when you sign in (optional). If you use “Sign in” in the game, we store a copy of your progress on our servers, along with when it was last saved and a count of resets, so it can be kept in step across your devices. You can turn it on in two ways:
- Sign in with Google. Google sends us a token confirming your Google account. We keep only Google's identifier for that account, a string of numbers, to know which save is yours. Your email address is shown in the game on your device so you know which account you used, but we don't store it on our servers, and we don't use your name.
- Transfer code, without Google. The game creates a random player ID for you and shows a short code that you type on another device. A code works once and expires after 24 hours; we store it only in scrambled (hashed) form and delete it when it's used or expires.
Either way, your browser keeps a device key in its local storage so it can reach your saved progress without signing in again, and we store only a scrambled (hashed) form of that key. Google device keys expire after a year.
Gameplay recordings. We use LogRocket, an analytics service, to understand how people play and to find bugs. On the live game, LogRocket records the screens you see and how you interact with them (taps, clicks, drags and scrolling), so a visit can be replayed as a reconstruction of the session, along with technical information such as your device type, browser, screen size and approximate location derived from your IP address. LogRocket keeps an identifier in your browser's storage to tell one visit from the next. Anything typed into a text field is masked, and we remove sign-in details, tokens and similar secrets from what LogRocket receives. Recordings aren't linked to your name or email. If you sign in, recordings are linked to your player ID (the random ID, or Google's account identifier) so we can look into problems with your save, but never to your name or email.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the game doesn't load LogRocket and your visit isn't recorded. Ad blockers that block LogRocket also stop it, and the game works the same either way.
Technical information. When your browser loads the game, our hosting provider receives standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser and the time of the request, so it can deliver the game and protect it from abuse.
Messages. If you email us, we keep your message and email address to reply.
How we use information
- To run the game and keep it working, secure and free of abuse
- To keep your saved progress, if you sign in, and sync it between your devices
- To find and fix bugs, and to understand, in aggregate, which levels people play, where they get stuck and how to make the game better
- To respond to you
- To comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Amazon Web Services hosts the game and stores saved progress in the United States.
- Google provides “Sign in with Google.” Its sign-in button loads from Google only when you open the game's Sign in window, and Google handles your sign-in under the Google Privacy Policy.
- LogRocket provides the gameplay recordings described above and stores them for us.
- Google Fonts provides the game's fonts, so your browser connects to Google to load them, which gives Google your IP address. Google's use of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
We may also disclose information if required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, property or safety of the game, its players or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business.
Data retention
Your progress stays in your browser until you or your browser delete it. Progress saved when you sign in is kept until you delete it with “Delete account” in the game, ask us to delete them, or we stop offering the game. Transfer codes are deleted when used or after 24 hours. LogRocket deletes recordings automatically after the retention period of our plan with them. Hosting logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations. Emails are kept as long as needed to answer them.
Your rights and choices
You can stop recordings at any time by turning on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser, and you can delete your progress by clearing the site's data in your browser. “Delete account” in the game's Account window deletes all saved progress and device keys for your player ID from our servers.
Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, you may have the right to know about, access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict some processing, and to receive it in a portable format. To make a request, email info@absftw.com with the player ID shown in the game's Account window if you signed in, or else the date and rough time you played and the device you used, so we can find your information. We may need to verify your request, and we will respond within the time required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If you are in the EEA or UK, we rely on our legitimate interests in running and improving the game, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has been recorded, contact us and we will delete the recording.
Security
The game is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, device keys and transfer codes are stored only in hashed form, and access to our systems, saves and recordings is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however.
International players
We are based in the United States. If you play from elsewhere, your information is processed in the United States.
Changes
We'll update this policy before the game adds anything new that involves your information, such as ads or purchases, and we'll change the date above whenever we do. We will highlight material changes in the game.
